The photographic series makes use of the archive of a photo shop–studio, from which the artist selected clients’ photographs and created collages reflecting manifestations of feminism in everyday life. Access to this type of archive offers an opportunity to analyse what women choose to photograph and how they represent themselves. It also allows recurring themes and situations to be identified—those that appear frequently and systematically.
Through the process of selection and sequencing, the artist assigns the photographs a new conceptual meaning by anonymously placing them in a different context and organising them typologically into several categories. The series reflects on the role of women in society. In several images, the artist merges past and present, as well as herself and other women, emphasising women’s lived experience as a unifying element.
