A photo installation and performance exploring urban development, changes in the city, and the panorama of Riga.
“Every New Year’s Eve, a voice from the Daugava asks whether Riga is ready. Each time, the answer comes: ‘Not ready yet.’ If one day the answer is ‘ready,’ Riga will sink beneath the water together with all its inhabitants.”
The work brings together different artistic forms—documentary photography, installation, costume, and performance. On several levels, it records the rapid transformations currently taking place in the cityscape, driven by the Rail Baltica project and other large-scale construction developments. These observations are set in contrast to the real panorama of Riga, which serves as the backdrop for the performance.

Performance was a part of Survival Kit 15 public program, 2024.
